John Kajander is Senior Vice President of the Texas Medical Center. Mr. Kajander works on planning and development issues for the organization. In addition he is responsible for government, community and public relations activities. Prior to his current position, Mr. Kajander was President and Chief Executive Officer of TIRR Systems, a not-for-profit corporation that provides health care services to individuals who sustain catastrophic injuries.
His background includes more than 30 years of management at the senior manager level. He was Executive Director of the Houston Area Health Care Coalition and President of the Texas Business Group on Health, an “umbrella” organization of the 10 business coalitions in Texas, which represented 250 employers.
Senior management for a major petrochemical company and banking are also part of Mr. Kajander’s background. He earned a BA from Michigan State University and serves on several community service organization boards in Houston.
