UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON ‘HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVE TRAINING SERIES’ AT HESS CLUB PROVIDES CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATORS & DIRECTORSLean business practices that increase productivity and reduce waste throughout the manufacturing industry have been specialized for the healthcare industry, and will be taught at University of Houston’s Healthcare Executive Training Series held at the HESS Club. Presented by the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), an affiliate of the University of Houston’s College of Technology, the conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the HESS Club from October 8-10. The conference will feature classes covering Lean Manufacturing techniques tailored for the healthcare industry. These “Lean” techniques, which were originally derived in large part from the Toyota Production System, involve streamlining processes and eliminating wastes to save money. In addition, the conference features an executive speaker series, covering the ‘hottest topics in healthcare’, presented by leaders of the Houston and Texas healthcare communities. Topics include organizational development, clinical integration and customer loyalty, to name a few. “We are excited to offer our first Healthcare Executive Training program and provide continuing education to hospital administrators and directors,” said David Walker, regional director for TMAC. “Our Lean Healthcare program will help hospitals and clinics improve the bottom line, while our Executive Speaker Series, conducted by industry experts, will offer practical advice for hospital leaders. We are proud to partner with Lean Healthcare West and other respected professionals to deliver these programs. As always, we will continue to support the manufacturing community with training and on-site consulting.” Registration is open. Cost is $1250 per person for the three-day seminar and $1100 per person with two or more attendees from the same hospital.
